Psalm 121:7-8: The Lord will protect you from all evil

The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever.

God will protect us from all evil. This doesn't mean that we won't face hardship or suffering in this life. Jesus told us in this world we would have trouble but to fear not He has overcome the world.

God continually in His word calls us to trust Him. When we examine how weak and frail we are in ourselves, we understand how easily the devil can and will destroy us if we live a part from a relationship with God.

But God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. God calls us to build our lives upon the promises of His word. To trust Him each step of the way. The enemy continually sets traps and snares to try to destroy us. At times it can seem as if we are on our own and God has even forsaken us. But it is in those moments that God calls us to trust Him in the midst of what our own thoughts and emotions are telling us.

The Lord will guard our going out and our coming in. He will guard and protect every area of our lives. The greatest decision we can make is to lift up our family, our marriage, our spouse, our every moment in prayer to God. When we come before the Lord in prayer and lift all things up to Him, simply trusting Him at His word, we invite Him into those areas of our lives. We enable His mighty hand to move in unseen ways that protect us from threats that we cannot see.

We must remember we walk not by sight. We walk by faith. We have an invisible enemy who desires to destroy us, but when we trust in the Lord and His promises, we build our lives upon the everlasting rock that will not be moved.

God will guard our lives each day. He will guard and protect us throughout eternity. The greatest lessons and growth I have experienced in my relationship with God is when it seems I am surrounded on every side. But in the midst of feeling overwhelmed and simply choosing to fix my heart upon Jesus and trust Him, is when I found the supernatural peace of God filling my heart and overwhelming every lying word and thought from the enemy.

Prayer

Father today I come before you and I ask you to lead and guide me. Help me to trust you each step of the way. Help me to build my life upon the promises of your word and not to trust or rely on my own thoughts, wisdom, or understanding. Help me to see you working in all things. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear. Help me to let go of the fear and to embrace the peace and hope that is found in you alone. Help me to trust you today in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Very moving, convicting verse, just what my life needed, a reminder that the battles fought are not of flesh and blood but of principalities that are not seen. Want to commit that to memory as a constant reminder of the power of God’s goodness in my daily life !!
