For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing can separate us from His love. The Apostle Paul endured incredible hardships throughout his life, which are well documented in Scripture. Yet, through every challenge, Paul came to understand that nothing can separate us from God's love. For it is He who pursues and calls us. We are saved by His grace, and it is God who provides a way for humanity to be saved. Without God reaching down to us first, we cannot find salvation. If we are left to our own devices, we will ultimately self-destruct.
Paul lists life, death, angels, rulers, things present, things to come, powers, height, depth, or any other created thing. Nothing in all creation can separate us from His love. When we come to Christ, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit. God holds us and secures us by His grace. He simply calls us to trust Him and abide in Him. But we must learn to live daily by His grace.
One of the enemy's great weapons and lies is condemnation. The enemy will try to turn our eyes and thoughts to our past and what we did before we came to know Christ. Or the enemy may attempt to get us to focus on the areas where we currently fall short. When we come to Christ, we are a brand new creation, but the battle we fight is against our sin nature. We still face temptation daily. We encounter trials that aim to paralyze and destroy our faith. This is why we fix our hearts and lives on Jesus, for He is the one who will lead us to victory. Every battle belongs to Him, and every victory is found in Him.
Today, if you are struggling in any area of your life, bring it to Jesus. Know that His love for you will never change. We are saved by His grace, and we are kept by His grace. None of us deserves His grace, but in His mercy, He has saved us. Pray to understand His love for you rightly. Pray that your spiritual hunger will increase. Make time spent in the secret place the priority and ambition of your life.
Prayer
Jesus thank you for loving me. Help me to lean upon your grace. Help me to let go of my strength and my wisdom. Help me to rightly understand your word and that nothing can separate me from your love. Help me to understand your love and grace for me. Help me to be the son or daughter you have called me to be. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
