Philippians 3:20-21 New International Version 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Our citizenship is in Heaven. No matter what nation we live in on this earth, we must remember that this world is not our home. This world is passing away and our eyes must be fixed upon our Lord and Savior. Our eyes must be fixed upon His soon coming. It is easy to become distracted in this information age, but our minds and hearts must be immersed in the word of God.
We eagerly await our Lord and Savior. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father. He has been given all authority and it came seem at times from our vantage point on this earth that Satan is actually the one who is in control. But there is not a moment when God loses control. There is not a moment when the devil has gained control. Everything happening now and throughout history has been to fulfill the Father's will and to bring to pass His sovereign purposes. There is coming a day when Jesus shall return to the earth and establish His kingdom for one thousand years.
Jesus holds all things together by His mighty power. By His mighty power He enables all things to be brought under His control. The more time we spend with Him, seeking Him and sharing our hearts with Him, the more we come to know Him. The more time we spend in HIs word, our hearts and minds are transformed by the power of The Holy Spirit. Our perspective begins to change and we see all things from God's vantage point. When we fail to know God personally and walk with Him intimately, we only view things through a human perspective. But when we observe all things from His perspective, we see how in control He actually is.
There will come a day and hour when He will transform our lowly bodies into a glorious body like His resurrected body. The older we get on this earth the more we are reminded about how limited our bodies are. But there is coming a day when we shall have a brand new body. We are but pilgrims who are passing through. Our life on this earth is but a breath and our focus again must be our Lord and Savior and His coming kingdom.
Every day He is preparing a bride. Every day as the bride lives for Him and consecrates herself to Him, she is continually pruned and she begins to reflect His character and nature more and more. It doesn't matter who sits in the white house or the halls of power in any nation because ultimately Jesus Christ is in control. He is always in control. The more we come to understand this truth, the more we come to experience the peace of God in all things.
Prayer
Father help me to see things as you see them. Help me to not become distracted or confused by the lies and deceptions of this age. Every day may I fall more and more in love with you. May you daily prune my life and remove anything that would hinder your work in my heart and life. Father have your way in all things. Fill me daily with your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit have your way in me and Jesus may you be glorified in all things. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen!
